AF (check focus at wide-angle and telephoto ends, and check for any abnormal noises or AF squeals), shutter, zoom, proper import of photos and videos taken using an SD card, image stabilization (check for any issues with it turned on), and rattle (check that it resolves with the camera attached and turned on).
